Apple’s free cell phone recycling adds to green efforts

080229_apple.jpgApple has recently added free cell phone and iPod recycling to its mix of recycling programs. The program allows anyone to send in any cell phone or iPod to Apple for free recycling. Apple processes all electronics in the US and does not ship them overseas for disposal. The program works by visiting Apple’s iPod and cellphone recycling page, filling out a form, printing a prepaid address label, packing it up, and dropping it off at the post office. Easy-peasy. The program is offered in addition to the free iPod recycling program through the Apple Store, where an old iPod will net you 10 percent off of a new iPod. Image source: arstechnica.com. > Continue.
