Luxury brands unconcerned ?

071130_deeperluxurygirlfrom1.jpgAn article on the FT.com entitled “Luxury brands fails to make ethical grade” relates a report issued by the UK branch of WWF that Luxury brands do not really care about corporate social responsibility, ethics and the environment. The report, based on data collected from the Ethical Investment Research Service and the Swiss based Covalence ethical ranking company covers companies like L’Oréal, Hermès, Tods, Tiffany and Swatch Group, and none of them do very well. Which is surprising considering that their clients, when surveyed, said they would pay more for responsible products. The WWF report has its own website (how cool is that!) called Deeper Luxury, with the slogan – Quality and style when the world matters. They will shortly be releasing a charter for celebrities who wish to endorse “ethical” products. > Continue.
